Plug and Play McKinney Expo!

October 23, 2025
AB Venture Capital at Plug and Play McKinney Expo!

We were proud to participate in the Plug and Play McKinney Expo at Collin College Conference Center on October 23, 2025.
As part of the event, AAB Venture Capital hosted an interactive Table Talk on the topic:
The Founder’s Ten: Non-Negotiables for Traction.
We explored key principles every entrepreneur should live by — clarity of vision, customer obsession, data-driven decisions, capital discipline, and resilience in execution.
Plug and Play continues to be a driving force in the innovation ecosystem — connecting startups, investors, and corporations to accelerate ideas, build partnerships, and fuel local entrepreneurship. Their presence in McKinney has created a strong platform for collaboration, education, and startup growth across North Texas.
We’re proud to be part of this thriving community of innovators shaping the future.

1.Clarity of Value Proposition ( Problem Statement)
If you can’t explain your product in one sentence, you don’t understand it yet.
The market follows clarity. Simplify your story, refine your offer, and make your “why” unforgettable.
2.Team Before Product
Traction is a team sport.
A founder’s ability to recruit, inspire, and retain top talent often predicts success better than any feature or pitch deck.
3.Relentless Customer Obsession
Traction starts with customer validation, not vision boards.
Every founder must live in the customer’s world — testing, interviewing, and iterating until product–market fit becomes undeniable.
4.Data Before Ego
Decisions must be driven by metrics, not assumptions.
Every initiative should have clear KPIs — conversion, CAC, churn, LTV, or engagement — and founders must pivot when the data demands it.
5.Capital Efficiency Is Culture
Raise money to accelerate, not to survive.
Build a company that can grow through resourcefulness, not dependency. The best founders know how to scale both with and without capital.
6.Speed With Discipline
Move fast — but don’t rush blindly.
Speed matters only when it compounds learning and market feedback, not when it burns cash or credibility.
7.Strategic Partnerships Over Short-Term Wins
Every deal must align with long-term momentum.
Choose partners that expand reach, open markets, or strengthen credibility — not just offer quick cash flow.
8.Execution > Ideation
Ideas are free; execution creates equity.
Every week should produce measurable progress — code shipped, customers onboarded, or revenue booked.
9.Founder Resilience & Integrity
The founder’s mindset defines the company’s destiny.
True traction survives rejection, pivots, and crises — led by founders who stay authentic, ethical, and persistent.
10 Build in Public (Authenticity Wins)
Share milestones, lessons, and challenges transparently.
